Hello everyone! Hope this find everyone well and enjoying the sunshine.  I've been busy creating a couple of new things.  One gorgeous bunting for a new bubba and a new blanket for another newbie. I will be starting to create my Christmas card holders which are fabulous to use during the festive season to keep all those cards together.  I'll post a photo to remind you all of how they look.  Enjoy...

This gorgeous bunting I made for a new little girl.  The mum wanted greens, pinks and browns but not babyish.  This is something she can have for a long time and something she can grown up with.  Mum loved it!
Cost: $52 which included the lettering (Millie)
Double-sided bunting, 11 flags long. Very cute!

This pretty bunting was for a new little girl.  The brief was, again, not babyish, pinks and pretty.  I chose the gorgeous partridge fabric with the aqua accent because I just loved it.  Very girly but, again, something  bubba can grow up with.
Cost: $32
One-sided bunting (calico on the other) 7 flags long. Too cute.

I made this newborn boys blanket for a great friend and her second bubba.  It's a cot size, 150cm x 110cm made from a linen-cotton panel of giraffes with a border of cotton pastel green and white polka dots. The backing is a pale blue flannelet which is great for all seasons. Cost: free (but if you were to order this particular blanket, it would be around the $60 mark!

This is the Christmas card holders I make.  They are very popular and fantastic when they are hung on the wall filled with Christmas cards.  I can do them in any size and shape with any style of fabric.  Price will be quoted when ordered.  Get in quick!

New stuff I've whipped up

Hey lovely bloggers.  I was sitting reading the paper last Saturday morning and having a coffee when I came across a do-it-yourself bedhead.  I have been meaning to make one for a very very long time and actually, my hubby had given up asking.  So, I got up, gathered my keys and my daughter, and off to Spotlight we went.  3 hours later, a little dishevelled, and rather annoyed with the service at Bunnings, we returned triumphant.  This was the result.  A very cosy, rather super bedhead.  Rather chuffed actually.  Let me know what you think.  I have make my son one too, need to paint the rest of his bed but it came up nicely.  OK, take it easy.

grey with white fleck fabric. noice.

This is a very fine navy blue and white gingham with light blue and white gingham buttons.

New stuff

Hello fellow bloggers!
I've been busy getting ready for my market stall but I have had some time to do some decorating at home and thought I would share some pics. I am an eclectic buyer, a bit of everything thrown in together suits me.  I love to change things round a lot and I get a bit bored quite easily, much to my hubbys frustration.  Luckily for me he lets me have a go and put 1000 holes in our walls. Hee hee.

The "H" I got from Provincial so it's a reproduction but I have been trying to find an original that I liked and found it hard, especially in the color I want.  It turns out they had them at The Vintage Shed but I already had this one up on the wall.  It weighs a tonne! Hopefully it's secured into my wall ok? Not sure why I decided on H.  Hmmm, Home, Hawks, Hooray, Hilarious, Have a glass of wine won't you?

This trunk I picked up from The Vintage Shed on the weekend.  Love the detail inside, and although the lock is broken, I am using it in the lounge to store our throw rugs.  Hopefully my two year old won't discover it's a great hidey hole!

This metal "A" I bought at The Vintage Shed.  It's from a new stall called Vintage Girl.  She imports all her wares from the States.  I could have bought it all but I decided on these three.  I have some original soda bottles so these will go with them nicely and I have put the A up on my wall in the dining room.

Anyway, just thought I would share.  Hope you are all well and keeping warm (if you're not in a warm place that is!)

Very excited.  My daughter Erin's school is hosting a Market Night on Friday 10th August at 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm. There will be lots of different things on offer including my blankets and bits and pieces.  They have told us there will be jewellery, homewares, candles, linen etc and it would be great if we could get some people there to have a look see.  Pass it onto anyone who will listen....looking forward to it! It's at Rowellyn Park Primary School, Rowellyn Drive, Carrum Downs.  Hope to see some of you there.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my newest finds from "the man"...thanks Donna. I've been in the market for a new (old) scale because mine sucks and I hide it in the cupboard  because it's ugly and it barely works.  I found this one and have put it proudly on my kitchen bench.  I also found this melamine set which is charcoal grey with white inner.  I love the  little handles.  At first I wondered why it came with three saucers and three cups.  The other two cups look like sipping tea cups.  Anyone know? Not sure if they are maybe sugar cups? But then, why are there two? Maybe there are two other saucers missing? Anyway, if anyone knows, can you let me know.  I don't really mind, just love the shape.  OK, gotta go, hope you are enjoying this lovely sunshine we are experiencing in sunny Melbourne today!

Scale $5 - and it works!

3 x cups & saucers + 2 x cups $2 - bargain!

Hi again! I have been a little busy lately and haven't posted anything for ages.. I've been busy making new blankets for a client and thought I would share them with you all.  I was asked to make a blanket for a 5 year old boy who loves animals and a pink blanket for a 7 year old girl.  Tell me what you think.  My daughter wanted to keep the pink one! (So did I)
The fabric is fine cord, cotton/linen and polar-fleece backing. It measures 1.5 x 1.1m and cost $60 to buy.

Had to use this bird fabric when I saw it.  It's fine cord fabric with a thick polar fleece backing.  The pom poms just add a dash of gorgeousness! It measures 1.5 x 1.1m and cost $60 to buy.

new bunting

This is my newest bunting I made for my nephew Sam who turned 1 last week.  We had a great shin-dig at my brother-in-laws and the kids went crazy!  Sorry for the bad photography, my camera has been playing up and my phone is full! This was made from cotton jungle print and gingham and sewn together with a gorgeous satin green ribbon.  Very cute.

I also thought I would share a fab find from "The Man" in Seaford.  I bought it a few weeks ago and love it soooo much! I had a bundle of things in my hands and asked how much the vase was.  He said $25 but let me just add everything up for you.  I waited and he came up with $30 for the lot! I had at least 6 other things.  Love a bargain! I have a gorgeous carafe and 6 glasses that match  so I was very excited.

If anyone needs blankets....coz winter is coming you know..let me know.  There are some gorgeous fabrics out there at the moment and I would love to create something special.  Contact me on FB or my blog.  Hope everyone had a great Easter!

new pretty paper bunting

Hey everyone, I was flicking through mags the other day and got a little inspired.  I had made my paper buntings before and I have them in my house but I hadn't seen so many in mags before! Thought I would make one to show you all.  I also made the framed work.  Moon River is one of my favourite songs on the planet and I saw it, again in a mag, so of course.....I had to make it!!

This beautiful sideboard is made extra special with the addition of gorgeous colourful bunting!

 Pretty papers!

Love Love Love....just makes me smile :-)
Photos of my niece and nephews new bunting....can't show you Sam's, haven't given it to him yet!

My top 5 covert list!!

I wanna be a picker!!! Ahhh... digging through the junk and finding a gem and then making it into something worth having in your house! Bliss. Love these two shows. American Pickers just re-sell their finds but Picker Sisters up-cycle the "junk" they find and it is gold!

I am a tad obsessed with the Titanic.  Movies, books, I went to the exhibition as well.  What can I say...we all have a little quirk?

Eames.  Do I need to say any  more? I love everything to do with this designer.  Beautiful, functional and worth every penny.

Industrial furniture.  Turning something butt ugly into something worth savouring. I love this multi-drawer cabinet because it has endless functions.  My mind is going round and round just thinking. Love love love.

Love 1960's architecture.  This kitchen is functional, airy, beautiful and my kind of space.

Thanks for taking the time to view my covet list. My blog is all about my other love....craft.  I make baby blankets, bunting and noticeboards.  I'm currently studying Interior Design to hopefully one day become a Property Stylist so I invite you to stick around and have a mosey through my creations.  Thanks!!

My top 5

These are my top 5 favourite creations.  I hope you like them..... I loved making them!

This blanket I created for a new bubba in Queensland.  It had to be cotton and cool enough for those hot temps!  I had free reign on the design but I wanted something the child could grow up with and not be too baby baby. The contrast of the different patterns looks great whilst keeping with the same colors.
 Size approx: 1.5m x 1.1m and Cost: $65

This warm snuggly cot blanket I made again for a new bubba.  The brief was to go a little retro.  I found this awesome car fabric and matched it with a polka dot border and polar fleece backing.  Customer was chuffed.
Size approx 1.1m x 1.5m cost $60

A friend of mine has a fabulous cake business at the Mornington Wednesday markets (The Cake Table) and she wanted to jazz up her stall.  So I made this fab bunting in her business card colors.  They are 2 x 3m length bunting and cost $65 for the lot. Very festive!

This would have to be my favourite.  I found this linen elephant fabric and had to use it somehow! I made it a feature in the centre of the quilt and put a gorgeous fine cord border of pale blue with white polka dots.  I then sewed a feature ribbon on both ends and finished it with a matching cotton navy blue/white polka dot fabric.  Great multi-seasonal blanket for a new baby boy.
Size approx: 1.1m x 1.5m Cost: $65

This fabulous noticeboard was a commission for a friend of mine who has a hair salon at home.  When she asked me for fabric with scissors on it I nearly had a heart attack! Where was I going to get that?? Anyway, after much searching I found it! This noticeboard is backed with cork also to pin all those important things. It comes with a bag of medium sized pegs and some pins.
 Size approx: 1.2m x 40cm and cost $60

baby blankets

Hey everyone! It's been a while, sorry about that!  I've made a gorgeous blanket for a customer which I had to share with you because I loved it. ( in fact, I wanted it myself)  I made it for a newborn boy and was told to make it cute...so I did I think.  It measures 105cm x 150cm and is made with a mix of cotton/cord and linen so it is multi-seasonal really.  I love the elephants and based my design on that really.  Polka dots are always a hit and they go with any gender.  Cost of this blankie was $55 (postage not included and would depend on cost of fabric at the time of purchase). If anyone has any new bubbas on the way or has a friend they know about, give me a call or contact me on my blog or on FB.  Take it easy and talk soon !!
